The premiere of ‘Raaz - The Mystery Continues’

The premiere of the much awaited horror flick ‘Raaz- The mystery continues’ was held at Fame Adlabs in Mumbai on 24th January. The event was attended by the cast and the makers of the film including Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, Adhyayan Suman, Kangana Ranaut, Mohit Suri and also Soha Ali Khan. Kangana looked gorgeous as ever in her unconventional backless attire with the glow on her face heightened by the fact that she had her current love Adhyayan next to her. Soha Ali Khan gets her Bengali right with mom’s help

Actress Soha Ali Khan has already carved her niche in Bengali films with her work in Anjan Das’s “Iti Srikanta” and in Rituparno Ghosh’s “Antar Mahal”. However, she still has to get her mother, the yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore to speak the dialogues for her to get the Bengali accent right.

“I can’t speak Bengali at all but I can understand it. It’s difficult because I have had to memorise my lines with much more effort. It’s a lot more work than required in Hindi and English films,” says Soha.

“I get my mother to say all of my dialogues and I record them and listen to them later to better my accent,” she added.

At Present, Soha is on with another Bengali project with Aparna Sen titled ‘Goinar Baksho’ (The Jewellary Box).

“I’m doing ‘Goinar Baksho’ (The Jewellery Box) with Aparna ji. It’s a film that we have been planning to make since a long time and finally the dates and stuff have been decided. Am really excited, it’s a lovely script,” Soha said.

Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan in ‘99′

The forthcoming comedy ’99- one short of a century’ has a unique combination of Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan. Kunal is playing a young and clever man who wants to hit that century in life and the conflict that he faces to score hundred makes the story. Everyone can identify with him. On the other hand, Soha plays a Delhi girl. Each one (Soha and Kunal) has a pre-conceived notion about the other, which makes the story interesting.

The film also stars Vinod Khanna, Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha, Mahesh Manjrekar and Simone Singh in pivotal roles.

The film’s title is very strikingly unique and different. Commenting on the title of the film, producer Shastri said, “The film is titled ‘99′ because it is set in the year 1999. Secondly, it also deals with the magical ‘one’ number that turns 99 into hundred.”

The film is budgeted at an whopping Rs.100 million, and will be directed by two America-based Indian directors - Raj Nidimuro and Krishna DK who have earlier directed movies like ‘Shor’ and ‘Flavors’.
